Forza Italian Football editor Conor Clancy believes Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic could be a suitable long-term replacement for Harry Kane if the England captain forces through a move away from Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane has made it publicly known that he is seeking a move away from Spurs before the transfer window closes later this month, with the frontman looking to challenge for more silverware.
It has led to strong interest from Premier League champions Manchester City, who have reportedly been looking to welcome Kane and his England team-mate Jack Grealish to the club for a combined £215million.
Spurs suffered another blow in their attempts to keep Kane after it was reported he failed to return to the club’s training ground at Hotspur Way yesterday.
Serie A expert Clancy reckons 21-year-old Vlahovic, who scored 21 goals in 40 appearances last season, would be the ideal man to come in if Spurs can agree a fee with Fiorentina.
He told The Transfer Tavern: “Vlahovic could be an exciting long-term replacement.
“He’s always been spoken about as being this really exciting player. He is young and he was phenomenal in the second half of last season, in particular. He just couldn’t stop scoring.”
