According to a new report coming from The Telegraph, Manchester United believe they are leading the race for the signature of Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho but Barcelona are still prowling around.
Needless to say, this could spell trouble for Ousmane Dembele.
What’s the word, then?
The same source claims that this is very likely to be the young star’s last year in Germany as he is looking to part ways with Borussia Dortmund in the near future.
Manchester United seem like the frontrunners for his coveted signature but it could be rather tricky to land since the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool are all monitoring Sancho’s situation.

They also state that this deal could reach the figures of about £100m and Borussia Dortmund could, if nothing else, at least get heavily compensated for letting the prodigy go to any of the aforementioned clubs.
Barcelona’s interest is particularly interesting since it could mean the Catalans are slowly losing faith in their own young winger.
Hanging on by a thread
It seems that Barcelona are not done raiding Borussia Dortmund’s squad since Dembele was also snatched away from the Germans a couple of years back.
And now, poetically enough, he could be replaced at the Blaugrana by another top talent hailing from the same club.
Looking at the 22-year-old Frenchman’s current situation in Catalonia, there’s a big chance Sancho would indeed spell trouble for him if he were to arrive.

Dembele has only played a total of eight games for Barcelona across all competitions this season, tallying one goal in just 466 minutes under his belt. Of course, a big part of the issue are constant injuries that are still plaguing the talented forward.
This is his third season at the club and it still feels like we are waiting for his full emergence that might never come.
Sancho, on the other hand, is younger and more prolific at the same time, with five goals and nine assists in the ongoing campaign and incredible 13 goals and 19 assists last season.
For that reason, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he could completely push Dembele out of the squad. And besides, even if they don’t land him, just their interest in the player could mean they are starting to lose patience with their own star.
For Manchester United, however, the addition of the young talent would also be huge as they are currently struggling to get going in the Premier League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s troops are sitting in ninth place in the table and are having difficulties getting back on track.
Bringing someone as prolific and as talented as the 19-year-old Englishman would surely give them some sort of a boost.
But can they actually contest his signature with such giants constantly eyeing the youngster?
Only time will tell who will win this intriguing transfer race.
